A Lesson On Heartbreak
I’m tired of hearing it:

• You will make a wonderful wife/girlfriend for some lucky guy
• Whoever you end up with will be one lucky guy
• Don’t worry, his loss…you will meet someone better
• You are an amazing woman and you will make some guy very happy

WHEN??????!

Granted, these statements have all come from guys I rejected who later moved on, and from well-meaning friends, but that is not the point. My point is, why is everyone hooking up and I’m not? To begin with, it is important to scrutinize yourself, what do you consider a real relationship to be? You have to get the picture what your needs and desires are from the other person, and what you are prepared to give them. This way, you capable of knowing early in your first dates, if you wish to continue and work towards a future together, and if the other individual feels the same of course both sides count for a healthy relationship.

Once you have decided to have an official relationship, you both need to remember what brought the two of you together in the first place. For instance, what attracted you to each other both physically and emotionally? What do you like about his or her personality? This will help not taking the other for granted, which can often happen after two people have been together for a long time. This does not mean the love is vanishing, but it does mean that there is lack of effort. People tend to get lazy after a while, because they feel comfortable and safe. Relationships define a whole new way of living because we all know that they can be tough. To make it worse as time goes by things do not get any easier. It’s not like being a sales person where you get better just because you have been in the job longer. There are times that it’s going to be all rosy and happy and other times the periods of ennui and speed bumps of tedium along the way.
